T O P I C R E V I E WWaterNymphWhich is more influential…more noticeable? For example, say if there are two people.Person A has Sun conj Mars - lets say in GeminiPerson B has ASC conj Mars in GeminiWhich is more likely to be “aggressive” - in I think communication…because it’s Gemini. What if person A had Sun conj Venus in LibraAnd person B has ASC conj Venus in LibraWhat about if person C had MC conj Venus?Who would be considered more charming? I know the asc is our outer shell, and the Sun is the ego. What about the MC? doesn’t it represent how society see us.Just a tad confused alanabelle86now I'm not the sharpest ASTRO cookie out here, since I read read read and get confused by absorption (Neptune in 3rd house)HOWEVER I'll give it a shot.Person A has Sun conj Mars - lets say in GeminiPerson B has ASC conj Mars in Gemini--PERSON B:: I would think that the person who has Mars in Gemini conjunct the ASC would be more aggressive in speech. They may come off more aggressive all together. Mars conjunct Sun in Gemini would mean that yea, your nature is to be more assertive/aggressive and it can show up in communications or your expression of thoughts/ideas.. But Mars or the Sun could also be in the 12th house. Which to me could mean you hide that aggression. So if it's in the 1st house which is obviously public then naturally, I'd think you'd seem more aggressive. What if person A had Sun conj Venus in LibraAnd person B has ASC conj Venus in Libra?--Person B:: same reason before (I actually have this one). Sun conjunct Venus would make a personal be able to almost "find" themselves through relationships or express themselves very easily through relationships as it's in their nature to doso (TYPICALLY). Venus conjunct ASC in Libra (which is basically saying HEY look at me) would be like you're wearing your Venus energy on your sleeve to the store. It's what everyone ses off bat without having to talk to you (like Sun conjunct Venus). You personality may be more Venusian (esp with Libra) as opposed to your "nature" being Venusian. You can be a kind graceful, charming, person but not show it to anyone. However I'd think that Venus on the ASC and in Libra means that you do show it to everyone. and very strongly. What about if person C had MC conj Venus?Who would be considered more charming? The last two questions?I'll back off from. My Neptune's gotten all foggy and confused from details again... *whistles and waits for another smart cookie to come along...*i tried though hot_iceI think its sun conj mars cause it's a part of him,it's inside,on the other hand mars conj asc makes you think he's aggressive, but he,in reality may not be,it's what he projects...Just my two 'paise' on the topic...wilsontcWaterNymph,One way to think of it is that the houses (and points, i.e., Ascendant, Nadir, Descendant, and Midheaven) are places where energy can be FOCUSES. So, as alanabelle points out, the effect of the energy (planets) depends on where the energy is focused. If the energy is focused in the 1rst house (being), we might get a definite sense of this person identifying directly with their planetary energy. However, as alanabelle also suggests, if the planetary energy is focused in the 12th house (spirituality, also confusion), the effect of the energy will tend to be less direct and personal.Since Ascendant is the point in a chart which focuses on "self", any planetary energy focused on the Ascendant will tend to be VERY personally expressed.Focusing,Tim------------------For information on basic astrological chart interpretation see: http://www.geocities.com/wilsontctc alanabelle86thanks for clearing that up, tim i tend to confuse myself with explanations...don't always take the easiest route to get to the destination....oh shucks, i've done it again lalalindaWaterNymphwhat a great question!
